Sourab Choudhury – Dermatology

Dr. Choudhury is chief of pediatric dermatology at LICH. He joined LICH after completing a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at NYU Medical Center in 2002. Prior to that, he completed medical school and dermatology residency at Michigan State University. Dr. Choudhury specializes in diseases of the hair, skin, and nail that affect children. He has lectured at several national and local medical meetings on various topics of pediatric dermatology. He is actively involved in teaching pediatric and dermatology residents.

Hannah Famiglietti – Pediatric Inpatient Hospitalist

Dr. Famiglietti joined the LICH faculty in 2007. A board-certified pediatrician, she directs hospital-based pediatric care for patients. She also maintains teaching responsibilities for medical students and resident physicians. Prior to her tenure at LICH, Dr. Famiglietti completed her residency at Columbia-Presbyterian hospital in New York. Before that, she was an elementary school teacher with the Teach for America Program. She is a graduate of Smith College and of the Brown University School of Medicine.

Alice Garner – Neonatology

Dr. Garner is a board-certified neonatologist and the clinical leader of the NICU at LICH. She did her fellowship training at Johns Hopkins and worked at large tertiary care centers prior to coming to LICH in 2007. She was attracted to LICH by the hospital’s team spirit and the appeal of working in a high-intensity urban NICU. Dr. Garner is a graduate of Southern University and Howard University.

Minnie John – Pediatric Infectious Disease and Travel Medicine

Dr. John is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease. She did her fellowship training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and her residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. Dr. John’s special interests are major infections of the body, pediatric and adolescent HIV, congenital infections, tropical diseases, and congenital infections. She also specializes in travel medicine, preparing patients for trips abroad.

Matthew Kaplan – Nephrology

Dr. Kaplan is the chief of pediatric nephrology and has more than 25 years of experience. He was educated in the public schools of New York City and is a graduate of Colgate University and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He trained in pediatrics and completed a fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Cornell’s Weill Medical Center. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology, and diagnoses and treats all types of kidney diseases, including glomerulonephritis, urinary incontinence, electrolyte abnormalities, many metabolic disorders, diabetes and hypertension.

Patricia Park – Endocrinology

Dr. Park joined the faculty of Long Island College Hospital in 2009. She is board certified in both adult and pediatric endocrinology. She did her fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital prior to coming to LICH. Dr. Park is a graduate of Williams College and New York Medical College.

Salvatore Presti – Cardiology

Dr. Presti is a graduate of the Catholic University of Rome. A board-certified physician, he received his pediatric training at SUNY Downstate and pediatric cardiology training at Lennox Hill Hospital. Dr. Presti has been practicing medicine since 1984.

Daphne Sack-River – Pediatric and Neonate Hospitalist

Dr. Sack-River is a graduate of the LICH residency program and joined the faculty in 2007. A board-certified pediatrician, she is a hospitalist in the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.

Jeffrey Siracuse – Neonatology

Dr. Siracuse is a board-certified neonatologist and a NICU team member. Prior to joining LICH in 2009, he did his fellowship training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and has worked in urban care centers throughout the metropolitan area. Dr. Siracuse is a graduate of New York University and the University of Bologna in Italy. He has conducted research regarding the effects of Group B Streptococcus on newborns and other medical research interests during his thirty-year career as a physician.
